Lars V. Mathiasen has today joined BW Gas as Senior Vice President, Commercial. Mathiasen will be based in Oslo and will report to Andreas Sohmen-Pao, Group CEO. Mathiasen has spent over two decades in the industry, most recently as a Vice President with Torm A/S in Copenhagen, and previously as Director, Maersk Gas Carriers. He started his career at AP Møller in 1989.

Commenting on the hire, Sohmen-Pao said: "With his many years of industry and leadership experience, Lars is ideally placed to help develop our LPG strategy and to lead our chartering team, and we are delighted to have him join us at this important time for the industry."

Mathiasen will join the integrated management team for BW Gas and BW Maritime. Others on the team include Clarence Lui, Group CFO; Morten Steen Martinsen, Executive Vice President, Ship Management; Billy Chiu, Senior Vice President, Commercial for tankers; Sverre Prytz, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Projects; and Rebekah France, Senior Vice President, HR & Communications.
